Community Rally Being Planned

Note: HRMC Corporate Communications Department was asked to release the following information by Ms. Sally Schaefer and Mr. Otis Sizemore:

A meeting will be held March 25 at the Haywood County Public Library in Waynesville to explore ideas for a community rally and other ways to show support for Haywood Regional Medical Center.

“The purpose of the meeting is to get a core group together to organize a rally to show support for the hospital,” said Sally Schaefer, a midwife at Haywood Women’s Medical Center and one of the organizers for the rally.

“We will be looking at ways to garner community attention and shine the spotlight on what a wonderful community hospital we have,” she said.

Organizer Otis Sizemore said he has already made contacts with several people who have indicated their support for the hospital and for the rally.

“We’re hoping to have the rally in April and I anticipate there will be a good crowd there,” Sizemore said. “This could become an annual fund-raising event.”

The organizational meeting will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. March 25 in the all-purpose room of the library.
